Lion Interaction Study Behavioral & Physical Dynamics (Work in Progress)

This creature study explores complex quadruped interaction through a playful exchange between two lions. The sequence begins with one lion approaching another in a seated pose, establishing intent and subtle dominance through posture and pacing. The lead lion places a paw on the seated lion, applying force that shifts balance and causes the second lion to tumble onto its back — transitioning the moment from tension into play.

The focus of this exercise was multi-character interaction, contact mechanics, and believable weight transfer between two large, powerful animals. I am concentrating on force application, balance shifts, and momentum through the tumble, followed by loose, behavior-driven pawing and overlapping action to capture authentic lion play.

The sequence resolves with a quick reactive disengage after a paw to the face — emphasizing timing, recoil, and personality. This study centers on physical credibility, behavioral nuance, and clear staging within a complex two-character interaction.
